European House Plans & European Style Home Plans

modern european house design

So I know I may sound a bit biased (since modern European tends to be my design style of choice), but I really feel this style works for almost anyone. It also works in small amounts (if you're slowly renovating and making over your space) or feels comfortable as a total transformation. While this isn’t a comprehensive review, use these points as guidance on creating an old-world-meets-modern feel. You’ll see lots of details like beautiful moldings and woodwork, and paneling is often used (think timeless wooden walls, not 70’s basement rec room). We’ll often see cathedral ceilings with beautiful exposed beams and old-world details.

Old World European House Plans

There is also the option to have a custom designed European house just for you. In terms of architecture, modern European house plans often exhibit clean lines, flat or low-pitched roofs, and large windows. Using innovative materials such as steel, glass, and concrete is common, creating an aesthetic that balances contemporary design principles with elements of classic European styles. This can also involve a unique blend of indoor and outdoor living spaces, with features like patios, balconies, and terraces playing a significant role in the overall design. European house plans have an Old World or European look that's not specific to any one style like Spanish or Mediterranean or French.

Plan Options

modern european house design

European house plans offer a wide range of styles and features that can be tailored to suite any taste and budget. While these plans can offer sprawling and large exteriors, many European plans are functional and suitable for large, narrow property lots. These homes will be built up rather than out; however, there is still plenty of opportunity to feature attractive gables, rooflines, decorative and grand facades, and large, comfortable floor plans. It regulates our circadian rhythm, improves mood, and boosts cognitive performance. By incorporating expansive windows into their designs, modern European homes prioritize the health and well-being of their occupants. The natural light that pours into these homes creates a bright and airy atmosphere, reducing the need for artificial lighting and fostering a sense of spaciousness and openness.

Multi-paned windows of varying sizes are often positioned for the greatest aesthetic impact. Luxury European floor plans typically have large, open living spaces and spacious bedrooms. High ceilings, large fireplaces, and intricate woodwork or plasterwork are standard features. The homes may also feature specific elements like exposed wooden beams, grand staircases, and expansive windows, which add to the aesthetic appeal and provide ample natural light. Open floor plans and high ceilings are often combined with other design elements in modern European homes, such as expansive windows and doors, to create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Should you include a fountain or pool in your modern European home design, you'll want something that looks very natural—as though you stumbled across a beautiful pond in a field. Stones are often used in lieu of concrete, and the exteriors are lit with gas lanterns. A wrought iron trellis and carefully placed steppingstones lead visitors through green gardens, meditation pools, and perhaps stone statuary or beautiful planters. Order 2 to 4 different house plan sets at the same time and receive a 10% discount off the retail price (before S & H).

Georgian architecture in the United States was heavily influenced by the architectural trends of Britain during the reigns of the first four King Georges. A Georgian house often features two or three stories of brick and stone, proportioned windows, and a central entry hall. Its interiors usually include formal dining and drawing rooms, marble fireplaces, high ceilings, and grand staircases with elegant handrails. Contemporary homes are homes that follow up-to-the-minute architecture and design trends. That means that a contemporary home built in 1990 will look significantly different from one built in 2024. Some common elements of contemporary or ultramodern homes include walls of glass, open-concept layouts, high ceilings, kitchen islands, formal and informal living rooms—and large open kitchens.

Outdoors

This design approach creates a moreand inviting atmosphere, as well as enhances natural light penetration and air circulation. A house style refers to a particular architectural design that characterizes a specific type of residential building. Introducing the charming and contemporary European Cottage House Plan, an exquisite blend of comfort and style. This delightful residence offers three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a host of luxurious features to create an inviting and functional living space.

Graphic Design

The preparation and qualification for this exam—provided by Columbia College Chicago—underscore the program’s commitment not just to educate but to empower its students to excel in their professional endeavors. It assures prospective students that the curriculum is rigorously evaluated and updated to reflect the evolving trends and demands of the interior design industry. The CIDA accreditation is not just a mark of quality education but also a crucial factor for students aiming to establish a credible and competitive presence in the professional world. We value the craft that brings ideas into the world, the research that informs criticality, and the compelling stories we tell to share our work. With access to the resources of our museum campus, studio arts and liberal arts programs, AIADO offers unique opportunities for students interested in the space where art and design come together.

The curriculum is comprehensive, covering a broad spectrum of design principles and practices, with a strong emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and practical application. In Columbia College Chicago's Interior Architecture program, you'll develop a professional portfolio and a skill set that will prepare you to design interior space. Our program integrates the worlds of manual and digital project work, and the conceptual with the practical. You'll develop an understanding of the creative design process, including research and analysis.

Art Therapy & Counseling

SAIC’s non-credit Interior Design Certificate Program equips students with knowledge and skills in the constantly evolving field of interior design. Students will study interior architecture, learning how to design and create functional interior spaces while gaining exposure to contemporary design concepts, trends, and applications. You will learn what is required to design and build an interior space, gain a general knowledge of how interior designers work, and examine what it takes to move creative designs from ideas to reality. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture program, accredited by the Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), seeks to provide education in design principles, visual and spatial conventions, and professional practice.

Interior Design Lighting Certificate

The Graphic Design Certificate is designed for students with an interest in exploring graphic design with an emphasis on print media. Participants employ analog and digital processes and may elect to work across disciplines as they develop a portfolio of work that represents their personal voice and demonstrates the technical, critical, and analytical skills required of the field. Students enroll in SAIC’s noncredit certificates to explore a field of interest, to prepare for further study in art and design, to attain a credential for career opportunities, or to achieve their personal or professional goals.

And, you'll often have opportunities to visit and tour architecture firms and design studios throughout the city. In 2019, Kyle O’Connell had a vision of leveraging technology to boost in-person relationships with students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He set out to create a machine learning-enabled system that could help with the admissions process, ultimately meant to direct employees’ energy and resources toward students in an earlier and more effective way. Certificate students take a combination of six Adult Continuing Education noncredit courses unique to each subject, including electives of their choice. Students pay the same tuition for ACE courses as non-certificate students, and are charged a one-time application fee.

Through coursework and within a community of peers, students have the oppportunity to build the skills and portfolio necessary for an entry-level design position and the NCIDQ exam. Additionally, the program often incorporates guest lectures and site visits—providing students with opportunities to interact with industry professionals and gain insights into the current trends and demands of the interior design industry. This exposure is invaluable in bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice—equipping students with the confidence and skills required to navigate the interior design landscape upon graduation. As one of several renowned interior design colleges on this list, SAIC’s reputation as a hub for creativity and experimentation is well-established in the academic and professional design communities. The school’s philosophy centers around the belief that free expression is the cornerstone of effective design education. This philosophy translates into a learning environment where interior design students are free to explore their ideas without constraints—leading to the development of original and impactful design solutions.

Although based in Houston, Rosenberg + Gibson Design has designed and installed a variety of projects across the country. With over 20 years combined experience within the design industry, RGD is committed to meeting the aesthetic and functional goals of their clientele. Our diverse Portfolio includes projects of all sizes, ranging from full design service for multi-million dollar homes to simply helping a client select the perfect paint color. Surrounding the exterior facade are eight flags, each mounted on twenty-foot-tall teepee poles and patterned in their design. Flags have been a part of Jeffrey Gibson’s practice since 2012, when he first built them from recycled army blankets and painted them directly on wool.

Dancing to the beats of First Nations electronic group The Halluci Nation, Ortegon HighWalking performs in a series of her dresses adorned with jingles or rows of ziibaaska’iganan (metal cones). As the dance progresses, her image multiplies within each screen and across the gallery, representing generations of Indigenous women and acknowledging their persistence for years to come. Gibson’s exhibition, the space in which to place me, engages concepts that have shaped his practice over his 20-year career.

This construction method allows the objects whose makers are unknown to be easily removed if a viewer can identify the object and maker. If an object is claimed, Gibson has committed to returning the work and commissioning an Indigenous artist to create a replacement or to make one in his studio. At the center hangs one of the artist’s iconic punching bags, explicitly created for the U.S. Titled WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF-EVIDENT (2024), the bag’s multi-colored fringe cascades in diagonal layers to the floor below. The beaded bag is precisely lit, while the rest of the room remains dim, creating a space for respite and reflection at the exhibition’s midpoint.

He often draws influence from poetry, literature, music, fashion, and theory, which materialize in his intuitive use of text. Gibson incorporates language from foundational American documents from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including constitutional amendments, legislation, speeches, official correspondence, song lyrics, and musical references. Often pointing toward moments in history that were meant to spark change, his use of text encourages us to examine our past when considering the present. It made me feel like I knew what progress was happening during the build, and really set a tone of trust with the builder that I wasn't expecting.

The mahogany neck has a rounded 50s Vintage profile and a rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The Les Paul Standard 50s Figured Top is equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, and gold Top Hat knobs. The calibrated Burstbucker 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are loaded with Alnico 2 magnets and wired to audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors. This refined Explorer boasts an ABR-1 bridge, Lightweight Aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, unpotted Custombucker pickups, and a 2-piece Korina body and neck, complete with a historically accurate case adorned with a classic brown exterior and plush pink interior. The NCIDQ, dedicated to protecting public health and safety by enforcing standards of competence in interior design,  tests and publicly certifies designers who meet their standards for professional practice.

The Les Paul Standard 50s Figured Top returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved – shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of Innovation and brings authenticity back to life. It boasts a solid mahogany body, an AA figured maple top, and a distinctive translucent custom color nitrocellulose lacquer finish that showcases the figured maple top.

His work has received awards in international, national, and regional design competitions and has appeared in a variety of design-industry publications. Just like the Explorer above, this new Murphy Lab Light Aged Flying V takes a much-loved Korina blueprint and gives it the “tuxedo” treatment with an Ebony finish and gold hardware. Again, it features a Vintage 50s neck profile, Custombucker pickups with True Historic Aged Gold covers, and a historically accurate case. The classic Gibson headstock is embellished with a split diamond inlay and surrounded by multi-ply binding, while unpotted Custombuckers bring beautiful vintage-style humbucking tones to the table.

Gibson Design Group has built a number of these wine cellars, from a smaller one that held 4,500 bottles to another which holds a collection of 30,000 bottles and includes a sitting room for tastings. Two of the wine cellars which were designed and built were later featured in the popular magazine Better Homes & Gardens . Gibson continues to approach these ideas in the next gallery, where two beaded bird sculptures, we are the witnesses (2024) and If there is no struggle there is no progress (2024), perch atop stone pedestals. A consistent motif in Gibson’s practice, the birds are partly inspired by ‘whimsies,’ Victorian-era Native-made objects, which were originally created to appeal to the taste and aesthetics of the period. Once viewed as kitsch, the objects fell outside of culturally specific definitions, which drew Gibson to them initially. More than just a source of inspiration, Native-made objects are integrated into the paintings on paper on view in the second and fourth galleries.

Gibson Design Group, Inc. specializes in reworking existing homes and incorporating modern features into older ones, making certain they fit within the look and feel of the original design. The focus has been total home renovations – interior and exterior, which requires a great knowledge of structural steel and sound foundation work. Part of Gibson Design Group’s work includes building custom casework, entertainment centers and wine cellars.

Inside LACMA’s plans to share its collection with a new Las Vegas museum: ‘I’m a West Coast booster’

He used a limited palette of chartreuse and dark hues that nod to the brick exterior and arranged benches to create intimate seating areas within the larger English-garden-inspired space. Designer Mark Hermogeno paid tribute to Silver Queen Susanna Bransford Emery-Holmes in the kitchen, butler’s pantry, family room, powder room, and mudroom. “We wanted to concentrate on polished nickels and polished chromes to get that silver feel back in,” he says of the fixtures, hardware, and lighting by Kohler and Kallista. Hermogeno and designer Lynette Chin brought in a mix of vintage and new furnishings in the family room, incorporating performance fabrics for durability. “[We made] sure that it was a really usable room, that it didn’t just look nice,” Hermogeno says. “I thought, if somebody’s taking care of the baby, they have a space where they can come and feel like it’s a retreat,” Sabatella says.

Designboom was in attendance as BMW Group‘s creative studio Designworks opened its doors in Santa Monica alongside the 2023 Frieze Los Angeles art festival. The new LA studio covers an area of about 16,500 square feet and now stands as the largest of its three locations which include Munich and Shanghai. Since its inception, Designworks has expanded from hand-crafting clay models for vehicle design to developing all-encompassing mobility solutions for an entire urban ecosystem.

“Our whole goal with this space was basically to turn the lights on in the room, bring in the garden that’s outside, and kind of have an experience of a breath of fresh air,” Brosio says. Hand-painted floors were the jumping-off point for designer Amy Peltier’s soothing primary bedroom design. “It was so much work, but it turned out beautiful.” The firm wanted the space to feel “light and airy and breezy,” and incorporated fabrics and wall coverings by Thibaut in a soft color palette. Peltier and designer Marina Kelly installed an arch to divide the bedroom from the sitting area, breaking up the large space.

She complimented the vibrant hue with metallic accents, Roman shades in a Morris & Co. fabric, and chairs upholstered in a moss green textile by Wesley Hall Fabrics. The landmark mansion was built in 1902 by architect Joseph J. Blick for Gertrude Potter Daniels, who paid $15,000 for the shingle-style home. In 1905, Susanna Bransford Emery-Holmes—known as the Silver Queen thanks to the source of her late husband’s fortune—purchased the home and soon made it her own. In 1922, she spent $37,000 to have the Postle Company of Los Angeles, who also built the Pasadena Playhouse, remodel it into an English Tudor Revival–style mansion, giving it the regal exterior that remains today.

Designworks is also working with start-ups to experiment with new production methods and sustainable, recyclable materials to create a high-quality look and feel with improved durability. For Govan, the collaboration with Las Vegas Museum of Art is the natural next step in his 21st century-museum paradigm shift. In addition, Govan says plans to open a museum in South Los Angeles, which stalled out during the pandemic, are slowly getting back on track. He also mentions LACMA’s collection-sharing efforts with Los Angeles Unified School District’s Charles White Elementary School and its exhibitions at the Los Angeles County Fair. Heather Harmon, executive director of Las Vegas Museum of Art, says the museum is tentatively slated to open in 2028 and has established a campaign fundraising goal of $150 million, as well as plans for an endowment. Bring tomorrow’s trends to today’s cabinetry with forward-thinking materials and space-saving frameless construction that push the boundaries of design technology.

Harmon says the Las Vegas Museum of Art hopes to have three exhibition spaces that are constantly rotating so there is always something new on view for audiences. The LACMA show ‘Ed Ruscha / Now Then’ is the first comprehensive retrospective in more than 20 years of a quintessential American artist. Rather than enlarging its physical footprint, LACMA aims to broaden its cultural reach, influence and presence in the West, and globally — a benign Manifest Destiny for the California visual arts scene. We offer milling, CNC and laser-engraving and other shop services right here in the heart of Los Angeles. We don’t want to brag, but some pretty beautiful stuff gets made right here at LA Woodshop — and it might look great in your home. The designer established two seating areas within the space, including a cozy gathering spot with chaise longues that flank the original carved marble fireplace. The room’s coffered ceilings were enhanced with a faux-wood decorative painting by Jhon Ardilla. Samatha Williams’s Tearoom in the Gatehouse is brimming with vintage charm and elegant accents. Working with Jacqueline Black and Michelle Porreca, Williams brought in a Chinoiserie wall covering to give the space a garden-like atmosphere. Designer Rachel Scheff used the home’s spectacular ceiling, woodwork, and stained glass as the inspirations for her fanciful, flora- and fauna-filled foyer.

Las Vegas, with a metro area population of nearly 3 million, is one of the largest cities in the country without an art museum. So it was with great fanfare that the city revealed in December that it had approved an “exclusive negotiating agreement” with the Las Vegas Museum of Art to continue work on plans for a proposed 90,000-square-foot, three-story building in Symphony Park. Which explains a recent announcement that LACMA is partnering with the upcoming Las Vegas Museum of Art to share both expertise and, eventually, its collection. We believe design gets even more advanced when combined with a powerful blend of rich, diverse experiences, flavours and people.

Cozy Stylish Chic Creative Director Jeanne K. Chung and designers Angela Lee and Caroline Meloche brightened the dark wood-paneled library to create a space where residents can unplug. “Our two main goals were to create a space that was comfortable and a little bit updated while also retaining that history and not touching or harming all the really cool features that were innate to the room and came with the house,” Meloche says. Wallpaper was added to the ceiling and the backs of the bookcases, and heavy wood blinds were replaced with soft draperies and Roman shades to make the space feel lighter. The firm used a mix of fabrics and wall coverings by Ralph Lauren Home from Designers Guild throughout the space. Designers Frank Slesinski and Serena Brosio collaborated on the charming living room in the Gatehouse. “One of the main things we did was add a window seat, which looks like it should always have been here,” Slesinski says.

Thibaut wall coverings and fabrics were used for the walls and windows, and the elegant shagreen-covered vanities are accented with gleaming fixtures by P.E. Videla-Juniel and project manager Cheryl Hardy also installed a striking shower clad in herringbone stone tile. A palette of whites, deep blues, and gold creates an elegant atmosphere in the formal living room, which was designed by Rachel Duarte.

We have a large bandwidth of disciplines and a unique ability to bring them all together into solid solutions that improve the world around us, for the better. Our motivation and inspiration is consistently fuelled by the Californian openness to disruption, innovation and bold ideas. Designer Ashleigh Miranda focused on juxtaposing technology and earthy elements in her moody media room. “I really wanted to showcase state-of-the-art technology but in a way that was grounded and spoke to our primitive nature.” Cutting-edge tech from Bang & Olufsen, Lutron, and JoshAI is balanced by curvaceous seating and unique art. Designer Lara Hovanessian packed plenty of bold design elements into the powder room and adjacent lounge.

The Potter Daniels Manor, the English Tudor Revival–style residence that hosted the 1975 and 1996 showcase houses, has been reimagined with 30 new interior and exterior spaces for the 2024 edition, which is now open until May 19. The creative studio recently unveiled the BMW M Hybrid V8 race car at the 24 Hours of Daytona. This vehicle brings together classic details and the modern technology needed for a successful race. Its special paint job is reminiscent of classic race cars from the past five decades, blending together the past and present of motorsport history. Both institutions will decide what exhibitions will travel to Las Vegas in a process expected to unfold organically as the collaboration develops, Govan and Harmon say. Because the museums are relatively close in proximity, Govan hopes the shows can travel in electric vehicles to reduce the carbon footprint of the exchange.

Road House Trailer Teases Jake Gyllenhaal, Release Date

road house release date

So much so, they're now meeting with writers to touch up a screenplay previously written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. It doesn’t sound like this film will have any time loops, or highly-trained sleeper agents with spotty memories, but there’s a lot from his past that Liman could bring to the table with his next feature film. The cult classic includes several martial arts scenes, which we would love to see in the remake, but we aren't sure that the same techniques were used. The 1989 movie centered on James Dalton, a professional "cooler," or bouncer, at a bar in a small town in Missouri.

Road House: release date, trailer, cast and everything we know about the Jake Gyllenhaal action movie

When he’s not writing as Terrell, he’s writing under his pseudonym Tavion Scott, creating scripts for his audio drama podcasts. Terrell is a huge fan of great storytelling when it comes to television and film. Some of his favorite shows include The Crown, WandaVision, Abbot Elementary and Godfather of Harlem. And a fun fact is he's completely dialed into the TLC 90 Day Fiancé universe.

Cast

Despite the fact that Road House is expected to be one of Prime Video's most-watched films this year, there was a lot of drama behind the scenes of the movie. At the time, MGM was ready to start production in 2016, having already done other cult classic spinoffs, such as the Rocky spinoff Creed. Back in March of 2023, Gyllenhaal was seen filming scenes for the movie during a UFC 285 mixed martial arts event in Las Vegas.

Cast & Crew

With this ensemble, the movie promises to deliver a thrilling and engaging experience for audiences. Instead of being a “cooler” with a checkered past, Gyllenhaal’s character in the remake will be a former UFC fighter who somehow manages to get a job at that rowdy Florida roadhouse. How he ends up there will surely be fleshed out in time, but for right now, the idea of a former UFC fighter running security at a raucous dive bar sounds pretty, pretty good. Terrell Smith has a diverse writing background having penned material for a wide array of clients including the federal government and Bravo television personalities.

Now, it seems you can add another classic eighties flick to that list, as Deadline is reporting a remake of Patrick Swayze's deliciously sleazy actioner "Road House" is now in the works. The original cast was filled to the brim with ‘80s stars like Patrick Swayze, Kelly Lynch, Sam Elliott, and Keith David, as well as wrestler-turned-actor Terry Funk as one of Brad Wesley’s (Ben Gazzara) numerous henchmen. It hasn’t been revealed if any of the surviving actors from Rowdy Herrington’s action film will show up for the remake, but this new version of Road House has a cast that’s nothing to laugh at. No, not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because Gyllenhaal will star in the reimagined take on the rowdy and rustic film Road House for Prime Video.

This movie is featured in the following articles.

In the years since its release, however, "Road House" has become revered as a staple of the era as fans young and old continue to revel in its absurdist B-movie charms, with studio bosses no doubt looking to capitalize on its enduring popularity. At present, there aren't many concrete details surrounding the "Road House" reboot, but a few juicy nuggets are being dangled about the project. Doug Liman directs Road House (2024), with a talented cast that includes Jake Gyllenhaal portraying Elwood Dalton, a former UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer. Daniela Melchior plays Ellie, while other notable actors like Billy Magnussen, Jessica Williams, Conor McGregor, Joaquim de Almeida, and more contribute to the film’s action-packed narrative.

Portions Of Road House Were Shot At A UFC Event Where Jake Gyllenhaal Stepped Into The Octagon

A hyper-violent intimidation campaign promptly ensues with Dalton and his new brawling barroom buddies facing off against a rogue's gallery of small-time hoods to keep their dreams of booze-house glory alive. They're reportedly looking to lock up a major name to direct the "Road House" reboot as well, with "The Bourne Identity," and "Edge of Tomorrow" helmer, Doug Liman, eyeing the director's chair. Of course, with the film's shooting script still not up to snuff, and its behind-the-camera talent still taking shape, it's anybody's guess when the "Road House" reboot will actually shoot, let alone when it will be released. The original film was released in 1989, and proved a modest box office hit for Swayze (per Box Office Mojo).

When he's not writing about movies or television, Philip can be found being chased by his three kids, telling his dogs to stop barking at the mailman, or chatting about professional wrestling to his wife. Writing gigs with school newspapers, multiple daily newspapers, and other varied job experiences led him to this point where he actually gets to write about movies, shows, wrestling, and documentaries (which is a huge win in his eyes). If the stars properly align, he will talk about For Love Of The Game being the best baseball movie of all time. If this is the first you are hearing about the Road House remake, or perhaps you read about it but thought it was too good to be true, stick around, because we’re about to break down everything we know about the upcoming reimagining.

Where to Watch

Additionally, real-life UFC fighter Conor McGregor landed a role in the film, making his acting debut, according to Deadline. McGregor is currently facing a lawsuit in Ireland filed by a woman who alleges he raped her in 2018 and who was recently granted pretrial discovery, according to the Irish Examiner. Last year, Miami prosecutors chose not to pursue charges against McGregor over allegations he sexually assaulted a woman at an NBA game. While the original saw Swayze's professional bouncer take up a job in Missouri, Gyllenhaal's Dalton background is as an ex-UFC fighter who has seen better days.

The movie had its world premiere at the 2024 edition of SXSW in Austin, Texas. Although the film will premiere at South by Southwest, this film will not be on the big screen. This seems to be a modern take on the original story, given that nearly 40 years have passed since the release of the original Road House. There are some similarities in the plot, such as the fact that Dalton ends up working at a roadhouse where things are not as they seem. Another key difference is that Dalton is now a former UFC fighter, not just a bouncer. Not much is known about the plot of the Road House remake, but there are a few key differences.

The original Road House famously saw Swayze’s James Dalton agree to leave his gig as a “cooler” at a New York City bar to take on a job as the head of security for a Jasper, Missouri bar with a bit of image problem. The remake, however, will leave the “Show Me State” and be set at a similar establishment down in the Florida Keys, according to Variety. Joining Gyllenhaal in his Florida Man transformation are Jessica Williams, Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, and more.

The club is tormented by a rough crowd and the crime syndicate that has a hold on the town, and at the same time, Dalton is tormented by his past of killing a man in self-defense by ripping out his throat. In the original Road House, Patrick Swayze plays the lead role of Dalton, a bouncer hired to take over security at the Double Deuce, a club in Jasper, Missouri. The project was eventually put on hold until November 2021, when it was revealed that Road House would return with a new cast that did not feature Ronda Rousey. Released on Jan. 25, the first trailer for “Road House” introduces viewers to Dalton, the former UFC fighter who has a tendency to get in brawls with multiple men.

Co-star Lukas Gage (The White Lotus, You) recently spoke to RadioTimes.com about the intention behind the changes Liman made, revealing he preferred to think of Liman's Road House as a "reimagining and not a reboot". The trailer shows Gyllenhaal in his role as Dalton, a polite but dangerous man who can fight anyone and win despite the fact that he says there are no winners in a fight. The drama and the open letter didn't sit right with many people, as one person involved shared, "It's so disrespectful to everyone who worked hard on it. It's a great big fun streaming movie." However, Silver continued to push for a theatrical release and argued so much that the studio threatened to cut ties with him. Ari Emmanuel, CEO of WME parent Endeavor, lobbied on Silver's side, begging for SIlver not to be fired. At the time, Liman gushed, "I'm thrilled to put my own spin on the beloved Road House legacy," and Silver noted that he was "so excited to bring this newly imagined version to audiences around the world."

Road House is a 2024 American action film directed by Doug Liman, written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry and produced by Joel Silver. It is a remake of the 1989 film of the same name and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Daniela Melchior, Conor McGregor (in his feature film debut), J. As noted in that Deadline report, this is not the first time MGM has tried to reboot "Road House" for modern audiences. In fact, the studio was eyeing a gender-swapped version of the film a few years back as a vehicle for Olympic medalist, MMA champion, and professional wrestler Ronda Rousey. That version of the film never really took shape, however, and the current iteration looks to be a more straightforward remake of the original. While the film is likely a long ways from heading before cameras, it seems MGM is hot to get the production off the ground.

One of the biggest points of contention is the fact that the movie won't be released in theaters; it will only be available on Prime Video. The movie was filmed in the Dominican Republic, with a handful of scenes filmed in Las Vegas. Road House's world premiere is scheduled for March 8, 2024, at South by Southwest as the opening night film. Notably, UFC champion Conor McGregor will be in the movie as well, though his specific character hasn't been revealed. Deadline reports that he will not be playing himself but will be playing an original character. Jake Gyllenhaal is taking on the role of Dalton in the remake of Road House, and he is joined by several other cast members.

Road House Release date, cast, trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal film

road house release date

Fans of the original Road House know it starred the late Patrick Swayze as James Dalton, a bouncer hired at a roadside bar who was tasked with whipping the establishment into shape. Given the reputation of the bar, the crowd it usually attracted and the handful of less-than-adequate employees, the job proved not to be an easy feat. In the new reimagined Road House, Jake Gyllenhaal stars as ex-UFC fighter Dalton, and he seems to be a bouncer who’s a little more lethal with his hands and slightly more humorous.

Movie News & Guides

Judging by the trailer, Gyllenhaal appears to have gotten pretty ripped for the film. Road House can sometimes be so bad it's good, but more often, the uneven acting and ridiculous story are just disappointing.

Hannah Love Lanier Is ‘Road House’s Surprise Breakout Star

However, that reboot was confirmed to be canned when rumors of the Gyllenhaal film first surfaced. Its been around 35 years, but fans of the cult classic road house are in for a treat its remake is releasing in 2024. Described as an “adrenaline-fueled reimagining" of the "cult classic,” “Road House” follows ex-UFC fighter Dalton (Gyllenhaal) after he takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse. However, once he’s there, he discovers that this paradise is not all it seems. With reboot, remake, and reimagining mania continuing to sweep Hollywood, studios are starting to make some perplexing choices about which past hits are being resurrected for fresh runs at the multiplex. And as it is, many of the more perplexing cinematic revisits announced surround possible fresh takes on (or sequels) to 1980s hits like "Labyrinth," "The Great Outdoors," and "Highlander," (per ET Canada).

Road House Is Finally Set To Release On March 21, 2024.

Troubled former UFC middleweight fighter Elwood Dalton makes a living scamming fighters on the underground circuit. He is approached by Frankie, the owner of an unruly roadhouse in the Florida Keys community of Glass Key, who offers him a job as head bouncer. Initially hesitant, Dalton takes up the offer after narrowly averting a suicide attempt with a freight train that destroys his car.

The reason why they decided to remake the 1989 cult classic remains unknown, but talks of the remake have been going on for nearly ten years. Besides a seemingly new plot and new location, the film has also been embroiled in drama in recent months, from casting choices to producers. The film appears to have some similarities with the Swayze, mainly Dalton being a fighting machine working at a roadhouse. Dalton is back to his fighting ways — and this time he’s causing havoc in a new location. But it is rendered with such obvious affection and steadfast devotion by Swayze and everyone involved (particularly the rarely better Sam Elliott), it's all but impossible not to be won over by its charms.

What You Should Know, Road house is an upcoming american action film serving as a remake, or labeled as a reimagining, of the 1989 film of the same name. The mixed martial arts community had a lot more eyes on it in early March 2023, when Jake Gyllenhaal made a couple of appearances in the lead-up and during UFC 285 in Las Vegas to film scenes for the upcoming movie. The first took place the day before the event when the actor, in character, took part in a weigh-in, as seen in a video shared by the official ESPN MMA Twitter account. Back in November 2021, Deadline revealed that Jake Gyllenhaal would be stepping in as the lead, taking on a version of the role made famous by Swayze nearly 35 years ago. A little less than a year later, the outlet also reported that former UFC Champion Conor McGregor would be making his acting debut in the upcoming feature film, though his character’s identity has yet to be revealed.

This includes who will be showing up as part of the stacked cast, what the movie is about, and how its star shocked the world of mixed martial arts when he showed up at a UFC event and made news around the world. Some of the most iconic ‘80s movies like Red Dawn, The Karate Kid, and Robocop have all received the remake treatment in the past decade or so, but one legendary, and badass action flick, 1989’s Road House, has never been remade. Well, that will soon change with the upcoming reimagining of the Patrick Swayze classic with Jake Gyllenhaal leading things.

Chinese see dragons as a symbol of royalty and the divine, while in European literature, dragons were often portrayed as menacing and destructive forces. But the fiery blade and the vibrant, contrasting colors make it hard to ignore. Even on a less visible placement like the ankle, this tattoo still proudly showcases the wearer’s bold aesthetics.

Do you know how we mentioned the dagger and rose tattoo meaning? It usually features a pierced dagger with a rose, whether in minimalist lines or thicker details. How would life look without a bit of intrigue and danger, right? Dagger tattoos are the right body art pieces you need to show that you are not an ordinary tattoo lover.

Religious iconography is seen here, as the sun and moon are observed as elements of worship in several religions. Most traditional tattoos contain these two elements and are also sometimes considered a source of positivity. In both tattoos, the dagger is facing down, depicting meaning of feminine gentleness, similar to the moon. The smiling moon and the happy sun face in these tattoos represent positivity and the will to fight come day or night, sun or rain. dagger tattoo design

A dagger stabbed through an animal head is generally a symbol of overcoming a challenge. Stereotypes can be frustrating, but when portrayed in the form of tattoos, they can make excellent designs. A representation of a knife in the heart or the back can be even more impressive by creating the illusion that the blade is already halfway in. Skull and dagger tattoos can be some of the most aggressive and masculine tattoos out there. On the one hand, we have a rose that is beautiful, colorful and full of life. On the other, a knife symbolizing death, betrayal, hardship or destruction counters the rose.

When you add roses around the dagger symbol, then the whole look will be more romantic. On the other hand, the final design will be more damaging and morbid as soon as you ink yourself with a skull and a dagger. Furthermore, you can ask your tattoo artist to enhance your model and offer it a more artsy look. Whether you want to have a cleaner look, or a dagger tattoo full of details, there are many accents or symmetrical embellishments to make.

As such, they will look superb on large sections of your body, such as the legs, the arms, or the back. For more personality, you can always add some animals, flowers, hearts, or skulls to your body art pieces. Whatever the meaning behind these striking designs, snakes and daggers are two elements that are perfectly suited to each other. These contrasting images can be used to demonstrate opposing forces and the duality of life. The rose represents love, beauty and hope, while the dagger is a symbol for death, destruction and betrayal.

This tattoo is inspired by the religious theme of Our Lady of Sorrows, in which Mary’s heart was pierced by seven swords, symbolizing her deep and enduring grief. While most daggers have a straight and sharp blade, some distinguish themselves with a different shape. This dagger resembles the Kris dagger, an asymmetrical combat knife known for its wavy blade.

Dagger ink enshrines knightly influence with a defiant death grip. Test out the streamlined acuity for yourself with the examples compiled right here. Scimitars are exceptionally renowned for their svelte curvature, but there are infinite ways to unlock tasteful elegance in your blade. To exemplify dexterous skills, the weapon may even be shown in action. The blood of a punctured enemy can be adroitly pictured as well. It is often the case that the way the two elements interact with each other allows onlookers to understand the meaning behind the tattoo better.

Daggers come in all shapes and forms, and so do dagger tattoos. In this collection of creative dagger designs, we’ll explore the endless possibilities. This American dagger tattoo takes a unique and lighthearted approach to the traditional design. The use of bright and bold colors immediately catches the eye, and intricate dot-like patterns and a star add a fun touch to the top of the design. The handle of the dagger features simple yet intricate designs, and the blade has been shaded in half-light black and half dark black, giving it a sharp appearance. The shading on the woman’s hand is done impeccably, creating a realistic effect that adds to the beauty of the tattoo.

These are pieces of timeless art, brought to life with a dash of color. You can mix and match elements, like roses or anything else your heart desires. Their adaptability makes them a darling in the tattoo world. Also known as lotus, lotus flowers have a very deep religious meaning as well as other spiritual ones. Lotus flowers can symbolize compassion, purity, and even strength. Lotus flowers sometimes grow in the most polluted water but bloom beautifully and still, create beautiful petal flowers.
